The Puppets

The scripts, stages, music and puppets are all "home-made". SIANIE's puppets have large expressive eyes, facial features matching the role of the puppet, and clothes lovingly sewn (often out of recycled clothes!). Bringing their puppets to life, the SIANIE actors make them walk, dance, skip, amble, frolic, whirl … across, along, and even through J their stages. Music and songs are used to add colour and give special emphasis to certain scenes. At the beginning of each performance, Chudco – the magic storyteller appears with his chest full of story surprises. He is accompanied by the SIANIE theme song .

Most plays performed at the Stara Zagora schools and kindergardens have a strong moral content based on Christian values to teach the children civil skills, respect, empathy and love for their fellow man. In many plays written by Rosi, the puppets play characters whose personalities are woven out of fine strands of meticulous and sensitive observations made in Bulgarian daily life. The plays are laced with subtle wit and empathy for the human plight.
